First, I apologize for the camera. I didn't realize some of the screen was being cut off. I usually have time to adjust the camera before the select screen appears, but I found a match almost immediately, and it was a good one too!

Since Ian didn't do so hot in his first battle, I wanted to try him out against another opponent. This is definitely one of my favorite passes, but it's pretty difficult to win with it because of the common weaknesses on the team. The one good thing about the Pokemon on this pass are that they're, for the most part, pretty sturdy.

I have a lot of trouble with Arcanine, no matter what pass I use. I wasn't expecting to see it since my team has four Pokemon that, at first glance, could cause trouble for it. If I would've known he was coming out, I would have selected Sudowoodo instead of Magnezone. Two Pokemon I WAS expecting (Scizor and Clefable) didn't even appear. I guess I'm so used to my opponents automatically assuming that Hippopotas will show up first...or at all, so they bring Pokemon to counter the Pokemon as well as the sandstorm.

I'm not sure whether or not my opponent figured Hippopotas was just a mascot and wouldn't appear, but I would never limit myself to only four Pokemon to choose from. Hippopotas (and Cleffa) serve a purpose on this team, and I think my opponent knew that by the end of the match.

I may have selected my two OUs (with some uncommon moves that will be revealed eventually), but they were not very helpful in this match at all. In retrospect, Sudowoodo and Golduck would've been much better choices for me than Magnezone and Starmie. I was so afraid of what Arcanine could do that I was forced to make a sacrifice in order to make the match as close as possible.
