No, this isn't named after the YouTuber. This is a cross between octopus and armageddon. The name just happens to coincide with a friend of mine here as well. Heh.
Octillery is a Pokemon that I feel is often overlooked. It's such a versatile Pokemon, and with the new addition of Water Spout, I felt it made a perfect candidate for this team. Unfortunately, even though I've already told you what this team is all about, you still won't see it in action here. It seems like there's always something stopping Venonat from doing what she needs to do...but she does get to help a little in this match.
My opponent seems to have one of those VGC teams or whatever. I've been seeing a lot of Japanese teams featuring two ubers with four others. This person has six very dangerous players on his team. The downside is, it is super weak to Fighting and Fire which made Octillery and Gallade necessities.
The setting up felt a little pointless once Umbreon went down. Octillery was asleep, but I knew she wouldn't stay asleep for very long. With Weavile still asleep and in play, I was also surprised to see my opponent not just let go of it or try to keep it in to see if it would wake up. Sometimes it's hard to read why opponents make the decisions they do, but I'll tell you now that the ones he made didn't help.
