Pokemon held their biggest Sword and Shield tournament ever the other week for VGC 2022 in London. Today I go over how to breed the 8 IV speed Gastrodon that the Pokemon World Champion used to win 1st place. This breeding guide summarizes the from scratch method going over how to breed the initial generations of pokemon from scratch via eggs, cleaning up IVs and nature, giving the correct moveset, item, and other similar details. The end result is a Gastrodon that is identical in competitive to the one used in Pokemons VGC 2022 World Championship win.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet may be scrapping the old breeding system, so their is a chance prep done in Sword and Shield to learn to breed may be more viable than the method available in gen 9 Scarlet and Violet.
Hello! Wanted to clarify a few things in the video for anyone interested:
1: Near start said Gastrodon is immune to ground and water, meant to say electric and water. Ground/water is its typing.
2: I interchange IV and EV a lot on accident. IVs are the bread stats (egg process and bottle caps), EVs are the trained stats (pills and feathers).
3: I didn't mark check the random shiny Ditto found, but it was marked! It had the lunchtime mark. Marks are only obtainable in Sword and Shield (hopefully also gen 9 Scarlet and Violet), with that location being the only place to get a marked ditto currently. It is now a shiny marked Ditto the Peckish in a dream ball. Not the rarest possible combination, but very high up there compared to unmarked.
4: Was mentioning a pokemon with scrappy that can false swipe on ghosts types. Its name is Pangoro. Haven't hunted for it yet, but it is really good for rare balling antique Sinistea, 0 ATK Calyrex Shadow, and any ghost type as it has access to false swipe against ghosts with Scrappy hidden ability and taunt so ghosts don't use memento ability to self destruct.
