Pokemon Emerald Challenge Randomizer Run - Part 1 - The Longest Mile
This Challenge Randomizer was custom built by me using the Universal Pokemon Randomizer program. The settings used were all of the standard randomizer settings (starters randomized, all wild Pokemon randomized with Catch 'em All mode enabled, all trainers' Pokemon randomized, trainers' names and trainer types randomized, all items randomized except for: field move TMs, most shop items, HMs, items given by NPCs and PC item, all moves all Pokemon have to start with, all hidden items. all level up moves, who can learn what TM, and every ability was randomized to a degree, and every Pokemon has a chance to have a random held item when caught).
The differences are pretty major to make the randomizer more difficult:
* All trainers Pokemon's levels are 30% higher than normal.
* All trainers Pokemon that are level 45 or higher will be fully evolved.
* All TMs only have a 50% chance of being able to be taught to any Pokemon.
* All moves that can be learned through leveling up a Pokemon only have a 50% chance of actually being able to be learned.
Additionally, these special rules are also enforced, which make the run much more involved:
* You must fight EVERY trainer in the game. This includes all May fights, all trainers in every Gym, all trainers in every Team Aqua and Magma scenario and any other trainers that are only available for a limited time.
* You must defeat Round 2 of the Elite Four.
* You must catch EVERY Pokemon in the game.
* You must pick up EVERY item or hidden item found on the ground AND you must pick up EVERY item given to you by NPCs.
* You must pick every berry available from the berry trees that are available from the beginning of the game.
* You must register EVERY trainer with Match Call that can be registered with Match Call.
* You must complete ALL optional content fully.
A few of the randomizer options were enabled to make the run more consistent:
* Every Pokemon can learn every HM.
* The catch rate of every Pokemon was ever so slightly enhanced: (Normal Pokemon Base catch rate of 50%, Legendary base catch rate of 25%).
* All field move move tutors are unchanged.
* Wonder Guard cannot be found on any trainers' Pokemon in the early game.
* Game breaking moves in the early game (Sonic Boom and Dragon Rage) are banned.
* All items that can be found on the ground cannot be useless items such as Mail.
* All held items that can be found on wild Pokemon cannot be useless items such as Mail.
A few quality of life improvements were enabled:
* The Running Shoes can be used inside of buildings and the such.
* The names of Pokemon are changed from all capital letters to first letter in the name is capital, the rest are lowercase.
The only thing that I am not sure I will require is the Battle Frontier, both because I'm not good at the Battle Frontier, AND because it would add a major amount of time to the run (more than 50h), and it would add a major amount of RNG to the run.
Let me know what you guys want me to do in regards to the Battle Frontier in the comments of this video!
In this segment, we begin the journey by finding the two Pokemon that will carry us through the main portion of the game (most likely); Grovyle and Manectric. We complete everything that can be done through Rustboro Tunnel, we defeat Roxanne, and we save Peeko!
