Pokemon Emerald Rogue Average Mode but if my Misdreavus dies, so does the run
(Streamed live on Twitch on Apr 8th 2023 [Or late 7th if you're in America])
(Also with very bad frame drops, excuse that, thanks, I'll see if I can do something for future streams)
Very cool ROM hack I found about recently from watching MMK4 stream it. Developed by Pokabbie, as the name implies, it turns Pokemon into a roguelike, with every route and trainer being procedurally generated. There's 3 types of difficulties for routes, and stuff like rest stops for Poke Marts, battle preparation shops and tutors, or even a full rest stop with all of them plus a free heal. Occasionally you can run into dens with Pokemon with hidden abilities, or legendary Pokemon dens. And also some more events.
There's a surprising amount of customization too. You can set if you want to allow overleveling past the Gym Leader's level cap, Exp. Share on or off, EV gain, the overall difficulty, item drop rate, how commonly legendaries spawn and how easy they are to catch, and also if you want your bag to be wiped completely from what you have in the hub when you enter a new run. After beating the game (or finding a secret early), you can also pick up a Mega Ring and a Z-Power Ring, which do exactly what they imply. You will also be able to switch over to Regional or National Dex from gens 1 up until 8 (only until Crown Tundra, so no Hisui Pokemon), and if you wanna toggle Gym Leaders/Elite Four/Champions and routes from Kanto, Johto and Hoenn on or off.
There's also a Quest Log where you get rewards for doing various things. Some of them are easy, some of them I am never attempting in a thousand years. (Sorry Abbie)
Most of the rewards you get are money and Rare Candies (the latter of which can be sold in runs for big money if you set Bag Wipe to off), but the best one by far is the Safari Zone, if you register 15 Pokemon in your Pokedex. In the Safari Zone, anything you have caught will appear there, and you can store them in the PC to use them as a starter in future runs. Very good if the initial choice of starter Pokemon let you down. (My starters were Snubbull, Diglett and... Unown...)
Finishing a run with a legendary allows you to also catch legendaries in the Safari Zone (this is necessary for a quest where you can ONLY use legendaries in battle), and registering 100 Pokemon allows you to sort the Safari Zone by generation on entry.
So basically, you have a very rocky start, but do a few runs and be diligent in your quests, and you get a lot of stuff that makes life easier. Huh, so just like BPo- *shot by Ince*
I decided to stream this on Twitch, after not having streamed for almost 3 years. But also with the caveat that I had to protect my precious baby Misdreavus, or else the run is dead.
(And what, do I look like a person who evolves Misdreavus outside of Pokedex registering purposes? It is staying baby and you will like it)
