Pokemon Unbound (v2.1.1.1) - Battleground Classic Leader Gauntlet (Difficult)
I guess it was time to make an actual serious video on Unbound.
Classic Gauntlet on this difficulty is definitely tough, but not too bad, at least for the team I'm using. Although part of that is due to me playing on Shift Mode instead of Set. Yes, I'm a coward, sue me. That said I do turn off items in trainer battles. That's a cool feature, because unless I'm playing Emerald Rogue where you can't plan anything beforehand, fuck using those.
As for threatening fights:
Alice is pretty tough, leading with an Adamant Reckless Choice Band Staraptor. The saving grace is that it has no EVs. I get unlucky and it led with Brave Bird here. If it leads Double-Edge, I can go onto Misdreavus, making her switch to Gliscor, which I promptly burn with Will-O-Wisp (provided it hits) to shut down Poison Heal.
Mel basically goes like this: did I hit Meteor Mash turn 1? If yes, I win, if not, I lose.
Tessy is also a problem, with rain-boosted Modest Swift Swim Kingdra capable of using Hydro Vortex. That said, it also has no EVs at least, and trades its Water/Dragon typing for a slightly more exploitable Water/Flying. I could have also used Thunder with Misdreavus instead of rolling the dice with Pelipper. Oh and also Swift Swim Fishious Rend Seaking. Which does half to a 252 HP/100 Def (26/20 IV respectively) Ferrothorn. Yikes.
Galavan is decently tough, but nothing I can't handle.
Mirskle and Benjamin are pretty easy.
Véga and Big Mo get completely swept.
(Although if Pangoro's Stone Edge hits on the switch, it'll opt for All-Out Pummeling instead of throwing the fight. But that said, it's the only threatening Pokemon there, since Metagross handles the rest. Provided it doesn't miss, that is.)
