Pokémon Emerald Version #2 | Ep. 27 | Mystery Events and a JIGGLYPUFF fallen from the sky
After defeating our father, we gained the power to surf all over the Hoenn region and, therefore, access areas that were previously inaccessible to us. The first thing we did was try to activate the Mystery Events option, which would allow us to receive Mystery Gifts in our game, a hidden option that had the function of receiving official Nintendo events in the past, such as the distribution of Key Items and exclusive Pokémon. This was only available at its releasing time. As I thought the procedure would be the same as in Ruby and Sapphire, I spoke to the boy who asked us to show him our profile at the Pokémon Center in this city. However, I discovered that in Emerald it was different, you had to fill out the form at a Pokémon Store, hence the episode began there.
We went to Route 115 to capture a Taillow and a Jigglypuff for the team. My biggest surprise was finding a beastly Jigglypuff, as if it were a gift from heaven. When I saw his stats I couldn't believe it until I did the math, his IVs ended up being excellent in general and together with his nature and gender it left me stunned thinking how unlikely it is for this to happen, also, days later I found out that he had a Hidden Power of 70 base Electric power, the last thing left to discover. After this we headed towards Dewford Town while exploring and surfing Route 108 on the way.
