During this festive occasion, keep an eye out for costumed Pokémon making their debuts, such as Jigglypuff and Wigglytuff wearing ribbons. If you're lucky, you might even encounter a Shiny one! Along with the arrival of new avatar items, some familiar Pokémon will also be wearing party hats to join in the fun.
As you explore, the skies will be lit up with vibrant fireworks, adding colorful decor to your adventures. Immerse yourself in the joyful atmosphere and enjoy the mesmerizing displays.
To make this celebration even more special, we have some fantastic event bonuses lined up for you. Eggs placed into Incubators during the event will have a 1/2 Hatch Distance, ensuring you cover more ground. Additionally, the first three Eggs hatched during the event using the Pokémon GO Egg hatching widget will have a remarkable 1/4 Hatch Distance. Please note that these bonuses do not stack, and the widget is available on iOS and Android devices. While venturing in the wild, you'll encounter a variety of Pokémon more frequently. Keep an eye out for Jigglypuff wearing a ribbon, Hoothoot wearing a special New Year's outfit, and Darumaka. And remember, there's always a chance to encounter a Shiny Pokémon that will add a captivating touch to your collection.
Prepare for thrilling raids with different tiers of difficulty. In one-star raids, you'll find Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle all wearing party hats, alongside Hoothoot in its New Year's outfit and Wurmple donning a festive hat. Progressing to three-star raids, Raticate, Nidorino, Gengar, and Wobbuffet will all be joining the party with their own party hats. For the ultimate challenge, take on the five-star raids featuring Buzzwole (Americas), Xurkitree (Asia-Pacific), and Pheromosa (Europe). Mega Ampharos will also be making its appearance in Mega Raids, presenting a unique opportunity to battle and potentially encounter a Shiny variant.
Egg hatching enthusiasts, we have a range of delightful Pokémon waiting to hatch from 7 km Eggs. Keep an eye out for Pichu, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Togepi, Tyrogue, Smoochum, Elekid, Magby, Azurill, and Wynaut. As always, the chance of hatching a Shiny Pokémon adds an extra level of excitement to your hatching endeavors.
Take part in New Year's–themed Field Research tasks to earn Stardust and encounter Pokémon like Darumaka and Bronzor. Keep your spirits high as some lucky Trainers may even stumble upon a Shiny Pokémon.

Remember, the tasks associated with this Timed Research must be completed and their rewards claimed before January 3, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
