Made a test run. This game is a pain in the ass to TAS.

Basically everything on a battle is determined when game fades to black (starting the battle).

Manipulating 1 critical hit is 1/16. Only way to manipulate is waiting frames, so imagine what it would be manipulating 6 critical hits (1/16777216), which means probably waiting hours to get it. This means, if a HG TAS is ever done, it will not have perfect manipulation, some battles probably won't look how a TAS would in other games (pretty much like pokemon emerald)

On this test run I manipulate a 2 critical hit (1/256), and I waited less than 100 frames so it was fast enough.
