This segment started with a battle with Blue that can be difficult. I needed to use 2 X-Attacks and Pidgeot could use Featherdance, undoing the power up. It was OHKO'd with Rock Slide and Blastoise was a 3HKO. I tried to flinch it with Rock Slide after using Wing Attack. It would normally use Rain Dance and KO Charizard with Water Gun. I got a lucky critical hit and didn't need the flinch anymore. Rhyhorn was OHKO'd with Earthquake and Growlithe too. Exeggcute and Alakazam were OHKO's with Wing Attack.
I went into Route 23 where the guards checked my badges. I entered the Victory Road and found another Rare Candy. I used them all on Charizard and it grew to L60. I also gave it a Sitrus Berry for later. I could dodge all trainers in the Victory Road and solved the Strength puzzles as quickly as possible. I also bought more than enough Full Restores and didn't heal at the Pokémon Center.

Saved at 2:02 with a L60 Charizard.
