Generalist Players – You want a minimum of 2 players to deal damage and break shields at all times who are faster than the lead attacker which will be your sweeper. This role will be your fallback choice in case you can not gauge what the random allied players plan to use in raids. Do not be afraid if there is no dedicated sweeper or support. If you are always unsure on what to do in a random raid situation, play it safe and play this role since it benefits to the overall objective of knocking out the raid pokemon and attempt to catch it. It might just take a little longer for you to complete the objective but it is a foolproof fallback.
These players should never take the turn to buff/debuff the raid pokemon or themselves, just to attack only to trigger and lower the shields for the sweeper to deal maximum damage when it is their turn to attack. They will also benefit from any buffs or ability triggers caused by your support player.
Depending on the situation, you could dynamax if anything causes the plan of attack to falter away, such as missed moves or unlucky critical hits/status changes caused by the raid pokemon.
