Heracross is my favourite Poke of all time, so when this game came out I always planned to do Purity Forest with it. Turns out, Heracross is actually a really good Poke for the level reset dungeons in Mystery Dungeon now, so it worked out really nicely!

Purity Forest, for those who don't know, is the hardest dungeon in the game. You enter at Level 5 (was 1 in the originals), can only take 1 Pokemon with you, and can't take any Items or cash, making it a serious challenge given it also has 99 Floors.

Heracross has always been a serviceable Pokemon in Mystery Dungeon games, because Multi-Hit moves are very good, and he's always had access to at least Fury Attack. In Gen 6 his movepool expanded to give him Bullet Seed, Arm Thrust at Level 1, along with Pin Missile at a later stage as well, making him even better. But the best change came in this game, the addition of Rare Qualities. One of them, Rapid Bull's-Eyes, makes Multi-Hit moves never miss. Which makes already powerful moves ridiculously good.

Still, even with this, Purity Forest is still far from easy. Had 2 wipes before this (on 12F and 19F), so it takes more than just go in and win. Have had a lot of fun with these games, and being able to use my favourite Poke to clear what was one of my hardest things for me to do as a kid gives me a lot of joy.
