Base Nuzlocke Rules
1) Any Pokémon that faints is considered dead, and must be boxed or released.
2) You can only catch the first encounter of any route. This includes any caves or any buildings that have random encounters.
3) You must nickname every Pokémon you catch. Once you name it, you start getting attached to it, making potential loses feel much worse.
Squadlocke Rules
1) Play with others on the same Randomized seed, so you can help each other with finding encounters, survive battles and collecting items.
2) Don't level grind too much to make it fair. This is to prevent any players from falling too far behind. You move as a squad.
3) If you white/black out, you fail the Nuzlocke; but can either choose to restart or stick with your squad via Voice Chat until the challenge is over!
Optional Clauses (Squadlocke uses these as rules)
1) Shiny Clause: If you ever encounter a wild Shiny Pokémon, you can catch it. We're not evil; if you're that lucky we encourage catching Shinies!
2) Duplicate Clause: If your first encounter happens to be a Pokémon you've already caught; you can choose to redo your encounter for that area for something new or not.
3) Species Clause: If your first encounter happens to be a Pokémon that belongs to an evolutionary line of a Pokémon you have previously caught, you can choose to redo your encounter for that area for something new or not. Some Pokémon have split evolutions (eg. Eevee, Slowpoke, etc.)
4) Static Clause: Regardless if you've had your first encounter in an area or not; if a Pokémon is guaranteed (eg. Gift Pokémon like Eevee, Starter Pokémon like Bulbasaur, Legendaries, Kecleon, Electrode, etc.) you can catch it.
