Pokemon Puzzle Challenge - Challenge Mode - Super Hard Difficuty
Whilst not the hardest difficulty (Intense is), I think this is still reasonably challenging for someone who doesn't play a lot of puzzle games.
There isn't much of a story to this, it basically follows the journey to becoming Champion in Gold/Silver/Crystal, although if you pick Easy/Normal parts of it are locked out.
The Pokemon you pick doesn't really matter, there's no type match ups or anything. Pick the one with the least distracting cry.
Each Pokemon is more like a life, as if you lose they'll be gone from your roster.
I unlocked Pikachu from playing Hard mode and facing a trainer (there's specific criteria for facing the extra trainers to attempt for the extra Pokemon).
I was actually going to upload my Hard mode playthrough, but thought it wasn't really challenging for me so did this.
The main trick I can give for the later levels is to push the screen up when the 'garbage' level allows it, you ideally never want to have to make threes other than when it's to assist with removing garbage, or set yourself up for a combo.
A chain of three won't damage your opponent, whereas a four (and combos) will damage your opponent, and temporarily halt your defeat when the screen is full - giving you time to clear more.
Professor Elm was right that you are your own biggest enemy in Super Hard, initially I could see myself preventing chains, wheareas by the time the Elite Four rolled around I had mainly corrected this.
It would have been a nice touch if you could evolve your pokemon for a certain number of wins for using them, even if the change would only be a visual and audio one.
