Figured I'd make a video on this ROM hack.

Radical Red is one of those typical difficulty hacks, with the main intent to make the game a lot more challenging, while also adding Pokemon from later gens and the mechanics that come with them, this version adding stuff up to Gen 9's base game, while also rebalancing some Pokemon. (I say rebalancing in heavy quotation marks though... what the fuck is Magic Guard Mind Blown Delphox, or Extreme Speed Mega Pinsir...)

Game design is a bit questionable at times, but I had an ok time with this hack. The only reason I'm doing this video now is because, after what feels like an eternity, the Radical Red Discord gave away the Mystery Gift code for Yveltal, which, over the past time, grew to become one of my favorite Pokemon. Oh, what seemed to be a bit with your sona at first does to you.

Here I take on the Elite Four using a team of a bunch of my favorite Pokemon. Had Fezandipiti been in this game, I'd be using it over Espathra, but in the end, I think the latter would have worked out better for this team in the long run anyway. These aren't exactly my top 6, but they're all at least my favorite of one type. Namely Flutter Mane for Fairy, Chi-Yu for Fire, Yveltal for Dark, Primarina for Water, Glimmora for Rock and Espathra for Psychic. Lot of type overlap here though, would have been even more with Fezandipiti (for Poison), oof.
I play on Minimum Grinding Mode, which makes all of your Pokemon have max IVs, but neither you or the AI get EVs. This makes it easier to concentrate on the battles, but it can make certain KO ranges unobtainable, such as at the end of Agatha's fight here.

Each Elite Four member has two possible teams that they pick at random, except for the rival/champion (who I named after a friend of mine here), who has 3. Usually the champion's team still depends on your starter (despite how different it is from the non-champion rival fights), but in these rematches it seems like he just picks at random.

As for the differences between teams:

Lorelei runs either a snow team or a rain team. Rolling for the snow team makes Flutter Mane and Chi-Yu able to sweep them on their own if I swap out Psyshock on the former for Sunny Day, to prevent Alolan Ninetales from setting up Aurora Veil, and with Booster Energy Speed+, outspeeding the Slush Rush Glaceon. I never bothered trying the rain team with this team.

Bruno either runs a team with Infernape, Urshifu Single Strike, Kommo-o and physical Mega Lucario, or a team with Great Tusk, Urshifu Rapid Strike, Iron Hands and special Mega Lucario. The constants are Iron Valiant and Zacian-Crowned WHAT THE FUCK- anyway. The Infernape lead team is damn near impossible for this team, because it outspeeds Espathra and Taunts it, and I need to set up enough to use Stored Power to bring Zacian-C into KO range by sacking it into Booster Energy Speed+ Flutter Mane.

Agatha either runs a team with Hisuian Zoroark, Roaring Moon, Chi-Yu and Drain Punch Marshadow, or a team with Unovan Zoroark, Flutter Mane, Chien-Pao and Close Combat Marshadow. This means she never uses my two favorites together, and that upsets me. Either one of them is ok, honestly, though the former might be easier since Flutter Mane is much harder to stop than Roaring Moon.

Lance either runs a team with Aerodactyl, Weakness Policy Dragonite and a Bold Primal Dialga, which, on that note BRO THAT AIN'T HOW IT WORKS IT'S CALLED DARK DIALGA IN JAPANESE- anyway. His other team has Garchomp, Lum Berry Dragonite and a Calm Primal Dialga. I might prefer the Garchomp team, just because Aerodactyl has Pressure, which wastes my Dark Hole PP. By the way, my strategy for Lance and the champion both involve luck with Dark Hole.

The champion was pretty easy with the team I used to beat the game with... and now it's a nightmare with this one? What? I guess Kingambit was that broken...
The only changes between the three teams are: one runs Koraidon, one runs Parabolic Charge Miraidon, and the last runs Electro Drift Miraidon. I basically need to get the Koraidon team, because I need to switch Flutter Mane in and out, so my Protosynthesis Speed+ isn't one-time. His Assault Vest Yveltal and Eternatus are big issues. Have something that can deal with the Ditto.

Oh, you might be wondering what the hell Dark Hole is. To put it bluntly, it's busted. 100 Power, 100 Accuracy, Dark, Special, with a 40% chance to inflict sleep, and bypasses Substitute. The only drawbacks are that it has a maximum of 8 PP, and can only be taught to one single Pokemon on your save file at a move tutor. However, Darkrai can learn it at level 100, and the Mystery Gift Yveltal comes with it, so I can freely give it to Chi-Yu. This move is so dumb that it's banned from RadRed Ubers.
