Any Pokémon that faints is considered dead, and must be released
The player may only catch the first Pokémon encountered in each area, and none else. If the first Pokémon encountered faints or flees, there are no second chances.
No duplicate captures, meaning if the first pokemon I see on a new area has already been caught, I can't catch it.
Only three pokemon center heal per town
No Master Balls
No catching legendaries (FFFUUU ZAPDOS TTATT)
All pokemon must be nicknamed
No trading, except the very rare ocassional in-game trade. No eggs. No pokewalker.
If any opponent steals your Pokemon's item, and you don't retrieve it during battle, said item must be destroyed if it isn't already lost
No flutes are allowed for Sapphire/Emerald, HeartGold, and Pearl/Platinum. In addition, the pokeflute may only be used to wake the snorlaxs that block paths, not your own pokemon.
