Let's face it, if you're watching a Nuzlocke Run, you're probably only watching for the gym battles and those especially annoying dungeons (Rock Tunnel, anyone?).
In Pokemon Red and Blue, you won't have Mankey or Double-Kicking Nidoran by this point. If Charmander is your starter, you will need to build up a formidable team to take Brock on. Weedle with its Poison Sting, and possibly Butterfree when it learns Confusion, they will be handy.

We also run into Jigglypuff! Eventually, we attain the base of Mt. Moon.
