Pokemon TCG 2 | Video Game Review
Pokemon TCG 2 is the Japan only sequel to the original Pokemon TCG on the gameboy color. I love these kind of Trading Card Game RPGs, as they allow you to engage with all of the fun aspects of trading card games: collecting, battling, and trading, without spending any money besides the cost of the game itself. The original Pokemon Trading Card game did that very well for the first 3 sets of the Pokemon TCG, and I’m happy to say that Pokemon TCG 2 follows suit. If I had to sum up what this game was in one sentence it would be this: More Pokemon TCG. This is a game that takes everything that made its predecessor great and makes it better. Double the cards, more than double the amount of duelists to fight, an actual plot, more amazing songs, and a postgame that I will be digging into the next time I feel the need to play Pokemon TCG. The only downside to this game, in my opinion, is that it promises that there will be a new one when, in fact, we know that there won’t be. It’s an utter shame that this game didn’t come out in the states, and it’s a double shame that we never got a TCG video game for the Johto or Hoenn region pokemon. If there’s any pokemon series that deserves to make a comeback, it’s this style of trading card game RPG.
