The Forgotten City | Video Game Review
5The Forgotten City is a first person narrative game, set in an ancient Roman town. In real life, I’m an ancient historian, working on my doctorate, while I play video game reviewer on TV. So, as you could imagine, this game piqued my interest. And guys, I’m not even gonna give you the “Let’s get into line” – this game is REALLY cool!
As you can tell, I loved The Forgotten City. I love it as a gamer, I love it as a historian, and I love it as a lover of Classics. I can’t recommend it enough. As I mentioned in my Xenogears review, video games have such potential to make players grapple with moral issues, yet they very often fall short of that goal. The Forgotten City succeeds, not by giving you the opportunity to make moral choices, but by presenting you concepts and asking you, the player, to grapple with them and to understand them. We need more games like this, and everyone should give it a spin.
