At the very end of the Area Zero Underdepths, you will find a crystallized cavern with a strange gem stuck into the crystal. Kieran will pull this gem out, causing it to transform into Terapagos, who he immediately captures using his Master Ball. At Briar's urging, he will challenge you to a battle using Terapagos. This is a relatively simple battle, most notable for Terapagos's ability in Terastal Form, Tera Shell, which guarantees the first hit it takes will be not very effective no matter what type it is.

After you defeat Terapagos, Briar will be disappointed with its apparent lack of power and push Kieran to Terastallize it. This unleashes its Stellar Form, causing it to become so powerful that it breaks Kieran's Master Ball and begins rampaging. You and Carmine will enter into a two-person Tera Raid Battle against the level 90 Stellar Terapagos, in which it immediately sets up a barrier. With support from Carmine's Sinistcha, you can Terastallize your own Pokémon to break Terapagos's shield. However, Terapagos will then absorb the Terastal energy from your Pokémon, breaking its Terastallized state in the process, and put up a new shield. It will also begin using its powers to change its type.

Carmine's Sinistcha soon falls, forcing Kieran to enter the battle in her place. With his aid, you must slowly work Terapagos's HP down, all while weathering the barrage of its powerful moves including its signature Tera Starstorm. Once you finally manage to defeat Terapagos, you will be able to catch it in any ball of your choice, bringing the main story of the DLC to an end.
