Pokemon X And Y - 3DS XL - An Easy way to Catch Zapdos, Articuno And Moltres!
This is a video of Pokemon X and Y for the Nintendo 3DS. In this video I am showing you an easy way to catch Zapdos, Moltres and Articuno ( Legendary Bird Pokemon ) This video shows you how / where to catch the birds along with directions on where to go. This method works for ALL of the birds.
Information / Instructions:
The three legendary birds Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres can be found in Pokemon X and Y after you have defeated the Pokemon league. Which legendary bird you can catch is based on which Pokemon you chose as your starter.
Articuno will appear if you chose Chespin
Zapdos if you chose Fennekin
Moltres if you chose Froakie
You find these birds for the first time after you have defeated the Pokemon league, you will need to check certain routes for each bird. But there have been reports of the birds being found on Multiple routes so you may find they appear on others to the ones I have listed bellow but these ones ae common for the first appearance. After this they will appear all over the map:
Zapdos - Route 22, Route 18
Articuno - Route 19, Route 15
Moltres - Route 18, Route 4, Route 5
When you run into your legendary bird it will flee right away, but this first encounter means that you can now track it's movements using the Pokedex. You should not try to fly to reach the bird because it will end up in another area. Some people recommend staying in Lumiose city and flying between the North end and the South end, until the bird ends up on a route close to Lumiose, then walk to the bird. However, I found this method not very affective, as the bird had always moved.
For the method in this video you will need MAX REPELS and a Pokemon FIRST in your party lower than level 65, and later you will need SURF. You will need to get to Santalune city, once there spray your MAX REPEL. At this point it's upto you if you want to walk, run, skate or cycle but cycling on your bike is quicker. Head to route 4 and enter the grass to look for the bird. If it does not appear then go back into Santalune and then straight back into route 4, head back into the grass. Just rinse and repeat this since your bird will eventually run into you and sometimes it will happen in quick succession!
You will need to run into your bird at least TEN times in the wild before it will flee to the Sea Spirit's Den, which is where you can catch it. So just check your pokedex to keep track of the bird when you think you are close to ten encounters in the wild.
After ten encounters head to Coumarine City. You will need to be on the coastal side so you will probably need to take the Monorail at Hillcrest station. From there head left and onto the beach. You will need to use SURF here, and head upwards, then left into Azure Bay. Keep going up and you will find gaps in the rock to reach the beach surrounding the Sea Spirits Den. I would SAVE YOUR GAME outside of the entrance because the bird will attack you when you step on the shadow on the ground. Now catch your legendary bird!
