theNinjaNick333's Nuzlocke Rules:
• Any Pokémon that faints is considered dead, and must be released or deposited in a Pokémon Box labeled "DEAD" and cannot be withdrawn.
• The player may only catch the first Pokémon encountered in each area, and none else. If the first Pokémon encountered faints or flees, there are no second chances. If the first encounter in the area is a Double Battle or a Horde Battle the player may choose which of the Pokémon they would like to catch.
• The player must also nickname all of their Pokémon, for the sake of forming stronger emotional bonds.
• A black out/white out is NOT considered to be "game over" if there are live Pokémon left in the PC.
• The player can use only Pokémon they have captured themselves, meaning traded Pokémon are prohibited. Trading and retrading the same Pokémon (for the purpose of evolving a Graveler, for example) is also prohibited. The player can accept Pokémon that are received freely from NPCs or Mystery Gift regardless of if a Pokémon was already encountered in that area or not.
• Voluntarily resetting and reloading the game when things go wrong is not allowed. Being able to do so would render all of the other rules pointless.
• Species/Dupes Clause: Adjusting the first encounter rule to ban duplicate captures. For example, if a Pidgey was caught earlier, and the first encounter of a new area is a Pidgey, Pidgeotto, or Pidgeot Species/Dupes Clause will trigger and will not count as the first encounter. As an extension, setting a limit of 5 (FIVE) on how much Species/Dupes Clause can trigger in an area. If that limit is reached, no Pokémon can be caught in that area.
• Not officially enforcing the rules until the player has Poké Balls and can catch Pokémon. For example, the Poochyena/Zigzagoon that the player has to save Professor Birch from is not counted as the first encounter on the route, and not counting any other encounters as such until they can catch. Likewise, in the games where the rival battle is immediately after getting the starter Pokémon, the "any that faint must be released" rule is not enforced at that time.
• It is not advised to participate in Sky Battles. Players are very limited in what Pokémon they have by Nuzlocke rules, so they may not have the Pokémon to needed participate in them effectively. If lose a Pokémon in a Sky Battle, the death will not be counted.
• Going to options and making the battle style "set", leaving the player unable to switch out.
• Banning the use of more than 3 (THREE) Healing and/or Status Restoring items during each battle.
• Banning the use of Master Balls.
• The player must battle but does NOT need to catch/use Legendary Pokémon.
• Shiny Clause: If the player runs into a Shiny Pokémon, the player may still catch it, regardless of whether or not it is the first encounter in the area or if it triggers Species/Dupes Clause. Because Shiny Pokémon are awesome that's why.
• If the player has no Pokémon that can use a certain field move that is REQUIRED to continue through any given point of the game, they may catch another Pokémon that can learn said field move. However, it cannot be used in battle for any reason, and must be released, permanently boxed, or migrated as soon as the player gets another Pokémon that can use said field move. The player can also use a Pokémon that can learn it in their "DEAD" box if they chose to play that way.
• Setting a level limit based on the next Gym Leader's/Champion's highest leveled Pokémon. What must happen to any team members that surpass that limit before taking on the Gym Leader or Elite Four is boxed until the level limit is increased. In Pokémon Red/Blue/Green/Yellow/X/Y Nuzlockes, this rule may instead become a loose guideline because of the way the EXP ALL and EXP SHARE items work, respectively.
• Banning use of the day care to breed Pokémon.
• Once a Gym is entered, it can't be exited without the Badge, unless you Black/White Out.
