Poker's Rogue Reckoning - Gameplay

A print and play roguelike game using a 54-card deck, colored dice for tracking stats and resolving combat, and a 2x2 room grid per level. Cards are flipped to reveal rooms, enemies, buffs, curses, and other events.

1:19 For each round deal 4 cards
1:30 Dual curse. Roll exact value to turn it into buff for the player. Greater or equal to avoid it. On fail it becomes a buff for the enemy.
1:38 Monsters mean battle. Tier 1 enemies: 1 ATK / 6HP
1:45 Player's roll+ATK vs Enemy's roll+ATK. Greater value wins. (ATK: Attack points indicated by the blue die) Player deals as many points of damage as their ATK points.
1:59 Enemy's roll+ATK greater player's, the player takes damage by the enemy's ATK points.
2:27 Enemies are grouped in piles of 3. Each complete pile increases the Tier.
2:38 Potions less than 5 (white) can be picked up for free only if player rolls its exact value.
2:45 Potions with yellow numbers can be bought with money. Blue potions, if used, must be applied at the beginning of a battle
3:01 Money cards can be picked up freely incrementing player's money
3:07 Red potions with yellow number can be bought with money If the player can afford them
3:31 Roll+ATK for player and enemy are equal. Player can counter attack by re-rolling white die
3:39 Who ever wins after rolling does damage. If it's a tie again, re-roll everything
4:20 Heart cards give the player another HP red die
4:34 Player doesn't have money to buy the potion so it must be discarded
5:01 Here the player rolls the curse exact value and acquires it as buff to be used immediately
5:07 Each buff card increments damage by 1 point. Now player does 3 damage for the next fight.
5:35 If the player fails to avoid a curse it becomes a buff for the enemy during the next battle.
5:47 Sword cards give the player +1 attack points permanently
6:18 Curses less than 5 are avoided by rolling exact value. Curses greater or equal to 5 by rolling greater
6:45 Enemy has 3 buff cards. + 1 ATK it does 4 damage.
7:36 This was a max-cap tie (6). The player should have re-rolled all dice
7:45 3 enemies defeated means Tier 2. Now enemies have +1 ATK and +6HP This happens always after 3 enemies have been defeated.
7:53 Tier also increases the amount of dice rolled for combat. Tier 2 means 2v2 dice for combat
14:31 6th enemy defeated means tier 3. Now enemies have 3 ATK and 18HP Combat dice now are 3v3 dice
27:29 9th enemy defeated means Tier 4. Now enemies have 4ATK and 24HP Combat dice remain 3v3
36:26 Final boss has 5 ATK
39:31 Final enemy defeated: Victory
