The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has arrested twelve (12) suspected armed robbers linked to the murder of Arise News reporter, Somtochukwu Maduagwu, who was killed in her residence in the Katampe District of Abuja on September 29, 2025.

Speaking during a press briefing at the FCT police Command in Abuja, Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), ACP Benjamin Hundeyin, revealed that the arrests were made following intelligence-led operations coordinated by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command.

ACP Hundeyin also disclosed that firearms traced to neighboring Benin Republic were recovered during the operation.

The police image maker commended the operatives involved in the investigation for their professionalism and persistence and urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.

He said the police remain committed to ensuring that justice is served not only for Miss Somtochukwu Maduagwu but also for Mr. Bananas, the gatekeeper who was also brutally murdered during the incident.
