Released in 1999, this demo disc was part of a special issue of the Official UK PlayStation Magazine, which focused on fighting games and beat'em ups. It featured an in-depth look at Tekken 3, a Street Fighter Family Tree (that serves as a genealogy of all SF games at the time), a galore of all the sweet Tekken 3 merchandise (and "Tiny Street Fighter Fellas", for good measure, so Capcom fans wouldn't accuse the OPSM staff for favoritism), all the reviews from the past issues for the games in the genre and cheat codes. The case that came with the issue had a cover design that resembles a blood bag, which also has an "expiry date" of June 5th, 1999. That was the end date for the competition, where lucky PlayStation fans would have won £2000 worth of games and other related goodies. I don't know what were the "goodies", but the games are obviously fighting games and beat'em ups.

How does one enter the competition, you may be wondering? Starting on page six through fifteen, the OPSM staff provide the challenges to complete. If you complete one or all of the challenges for each of the nine playable demos, you ring the numbers of the specified games, attach a video proof of you winning the challenge(s) to the sleeve and send it to the address that was printed on the sleeve.

There was also space to write your answers for "Other competitions". That was referring to the two competitions found in the issue itself. Which ones? I am glad you ask:

- The first one on page 26-27 is themed around Victory Boxing 2. The grand prize for that one was a new stereo boombox from JVC (the same company that published Victory Boxing 2) and a copy of the said game in "a highly fashionable presentation case". Runner-ups simply won a copy of Victory Boxing 2, either in a presentation case or a normal state. There were 49 presentation copies and 100 regular copies respectively.

The question that was given to enter was: "How many knockdowns constitute a Technical KO?"
a) 2
b) 3
c) 9

- The second one on page 28 was related to Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter. The prize for one lucky winner was a Sony stereo TV worth £1000, courtesy of the game's publisher Virgin Interactive.

The question here was: "How many characters are available in Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter?"
a) 2
b) 100
c) 17

The challenges are listed on the bottom of the description (under all the hashtags), in case you wanted to know what you needed to do back then to enter the main competition.

And by the way, all the demos were played on the Polymega using the 8BitDo Arcade Stick.

OPSM Beat'em Up Special Challenges:

- Tekken 3: Beat Ling Xiaoyu with Eddy Gordo as fast as possible, but only with punch attacks. The prize for this challenge in particular was a very special copy of Tekken 3.
- Tekken 2: Beat the demo as Lei Wulong using only attacks that start from his "Play Dead" moves.
- Mortal Kombat 3: As either Kano or Sonya, win both rounds by only attacking the opponent from the back.
- Bloody Roar: As either Yugo or Alice, win the demo match without ever pressing the Rave button (Triangle). Basically, only attacks from the human forms.
- Dead or Alive: As either Jann Lee, Kasumi or Lei Fang, beat the demo using only counters or throws.
- Dynasty Warriors: As either Chou-Zi / Znag Fei or Kakou-Ton / Xiahou Dun, beat the demo using only horizontal attacks and without using the guard button.
- Cardinal Syn: As either Redemptor or Nephra, beat the demo without ever moving.
- Battle Arena Toshinden 2: Beat the demo without using special moves or kicks.
- Victory Boxing 2: Beat the demo without using head punches.
