PolyNerdic Play Test: Apex Legends
0Respawn, the makers of my favorite overall game from 2016 Titanfall 2, are back.
Unfortunately they are not back with Titanfall 3 but they are back with something Titanfall adjacent.
Apex Legends is a squad based (I know, I know), hero based (I know, I know, I know) battle royale (yes one of those) games but hear me out....it actually looks like it has a lot of potential.
Yes the forced squads thing is annoying if you're a solo gamer like I traditionally am.
Yes the hero stuff can be bad if done incorrectly.
Yes battle royale continues to be the flavor of the moment (but a flavor I enjoy the taste of personally).
But the thing is, Respawn makes great shooters and it shows here despite those "issues" above.
Plus the damn game is free to play so you aren't out anything if you don't like it.
