The Castlevania franchise has always offered me a very specific conundrum.

On one hand I absolutely love the look, lore and feel of the games. I love the idea of a family cursed to battle Dracula and his horde of monsters forever. I love how in later iterations they made Dracula an ancestor of that family, explaining the curse as one that requires them to continually defeat one of their own gone bad. In short I love everything about the games.

But on the other hand I am horrendously bad at the games. In the original NES Castlevania I don't believe I've ever gotten past the Mummies. In the original Lords of Shadow I made it to a swamp troll thing, stopped playing for a very long time and when I returned could not remember the controls well enough to beat the thing. I've dabbled in tons of the Castlevania games between those two and have never beaten any of them.

I still love them though so I was very excited to see Castlevania: Requiem coming out bringing with it Rondo of Blood (a game I've never played before) and Symphony of the Night (a game I played but only a little) to the PS4.

As you'll see here I still suck at these games but I love them to death. -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/polynerdic
