PolyNerdic Play Test: Yakuza Kiwami 2
02018 continues to be my "Year of Yakuza" with the release of Yakuza Kiwami 2, the remaster of Yakuza 2, a game that many feel is the best in the entire series.
As you may know I am a recent convert to the excellence of the Yakuza franchise, having only gotten my feet wet with Yakuza 0 at the start of the year and immersing myself fully in the franchise at that point.
Yakuza Kiwami 2 is my 4th title in the series in 2018 and so far it has not disappointed.
Taking place a year after Kiwami (or Yakuza if you played the originals), it finds Kiryu stuck in the middle of a civil war between the Omi Alliance and the Tojo Clan. This PolyNerdic Play Test finds us in the middle of Chapter 4 of the game where Kiryu's attempt to forge a pact between the two groups to prevent all out war was undercut by a coup in the Omi Alliance.
