Porsche 911 Police Chase, Wieringerwerf, Netherlands (2007)
This police chase in Wieringerwerf, North Holland, Netherlands, occurred on February 9, 2007. A Porsche 911 was evading a KLPD officer after being observed for speeding at 211 km/h (131 MPH) on the A7. During the pursuit, the suspect crashed into a guardrail, which caused major damage to the car. They managed to drive the heavily damaged car at a high speed on the A7. The officer backed off to maintain a safe following distance due to the risk of another collision. The driver later got off the highway at a rest stop.
Then, someone in a Volkswagen Golf picks up the Porsche driver. It appears that the main suspect may have contacted the other driver via telephone. The first officer observes the Porsche driver get into the other car. After that, someone else drives the damaged Porsche with the Golf right behind it. That same officer follows the VW Golf while radioing information about the Porsche. Police converge on the Porsche that was pulled off on the side of a road near the highway, with the driver arrested. The officers then coordinate a traffic jam on the highway to stop the suspects. The Porsche driver begins to resist arrest when stopped, but is later subdued and taken into custody. This applies to the driver of the VW Golf.
