Porsche is breaking new ground in how it showcases its innovative automotive technologies, combining its engineering prowess with cutting-edge advancements from Apple. At a recent event held at Spain’s Ascari circuit, Porsche introduced a revolutionary way to present the 911 Carrera GTS T-Hybrid system using Apple Vision Pro. This collaboration represents a bold leap into the realm of spatial computing and augmented reality.

As modern devices increasingly integrate with our lives, the transition from two-dimensional screens to three-dimensional experiences is redefining how we consume information. Porsche is leading the charge, using Apple Vision Pro to provide media guests with an unprecedented, immersive experience. This summer, groups of journalists explored the intricate details of the new T-Hybrid system, virtually dismantling the car’s layers, inspecting its underpinnings, and analyzing its aerodynamics—all with extraordinary precision.

The hybrid powertrain showcased features like an electric exhaust gas turbocharger, which minimizes the time required to reach peak boost pressure. This sophisticated system, inspired by motorsport, was brought to life through Apple’s spatial computing capabilities. By peeling back the exterior of the car in high-resolution detail, attendees gained a deep understanding of its inner workings in a fraction of the time it might take using traditional presentations.

Matthias Hofstetter, Porsche’s Director of Powertrain Product Line 911, emphasized the impact of this new approach. “The clarity and accuracy of the visuals allowed us to focus on the core aspects of the technology. Media coverage was precise and well-informed, which is a great achievement,” he stated.

For British journalist and presenter Henry Catchpole, who attended on behalf of Hagerty, the experience was equally transformative. He noted how the technology allowed him to convey the complex mechanics of the T-Hybrid system to viewers with ease, elevating the quality of his reporting.

Looking ahead, Porsche plans to expand its use of spatial computing by integrating Apple’s Persona and SharePlay features, enabling remote interactions that feel as personal as face-to-face meetings. While traditional presentations will still have their place, spatial computing is clearly paving the way for more dynamic and engaging storytelling in the automotive world.
