I must apologize for the delay in this one. I've been sat on the half finished video for 3 weeks so thought it was about time to go back to it today. Thankfully, with a clear head, I'd worked it out within 10 minutes. My ideas at the end of the first recording session were about right (in terms of swapping the cubes), but I realized quite quickly (2nd time round) if I can get it in there, just try to reverse the actions with the other cube and we'll be golden!
