Portal QoL Mod - Additional Turret Lines
8Hello everyone! Doing something a bit different this time around, this is footage of my Work in Progress Portal 1 Quality of Life Mod, a mod in which I aim to update the assets and cosmetics of Portal so as to give it what it deserves for the masterpiece of a game that it is. In this video, I show off some of the "new" voice lines for the turrets. I began with un-commenting the otherwise existing and functioning turret voice lines in the turret sound script file. After this, I took the "suppressing" lines from Portal: Project Beta (which got them from the Portal asset leak) and repurposed them into the various used sound scripts (the section for the suppressing lines is commented out in the turret npc code, so re-purposing them for other scripts was necessary. In total there are 13 new turret voice lines! You also probably noticed the second hand on the portal gun, as well as the fact that the hands now have textures. This is another feature of my mod, I went ahead and recreated the viewmodel hand texture using the textures for Chell's model (the UVs imply that they were they same.) The mod is near completion and I plan on releasing version 1.0 pretty soon, so keep an eye out for it!
