Possible reason why your socket 478 CPU processor (Pentium 4 IV) is hanging, freezing, or locking up

Any information you choose to put into use from this video is done AT YOUR OWN RISK.
This video will show you a common problem that COULD be the cause of your socket 478 CPU processor (commonly an Intel Pentium 4 IV processor) hanging, freezing, or locking up under high-stress activities (processes that require many CPU clock cycles and system resources such as virus scanning, video processing and playing video games). Essentially, despite your heatsink radiator and processor ventilator fan being clean and free of gunk, as well as an adequate application of heatsink compound thermal paste being present between the CPU and the heatsink, and an adequate air circulation present in your PC computer case, what could be the cause of this overheating could be one or more clips on your fan retention bracket being broken, providing inadequate tension and thus inadequate contact between your ventilator fan, heatsink radiator, and CPU processor. I have seen this issue produce on MANY socket 478 processor fan retention brackets and this video will show you what warning signs to look for in order to identify this problem.
Note that this is the basic variant of this video, which simply aids in identifying this issue. For the advanced variant of this video, which shows specifically how to uninstall the previous fan retention bracket, how to install the new fan retention bracket, how to clean dust and gunk out of a heatsink radiator, how to remove dried up heatsink compound off of your CPU and heatsink, how to apply a proper layer of thermal paste heatsink compound to your CPU surface, how to clip the ventilator fan to your heatsink radiator, how to properly seat your heatsink radiator in the retention bracket over your CPU processor and how to install and mount the fan retention clips and tensioners over the latches of the fan retention bracket, see this video:
