Possible unused move effect (Generation II)
In Pokémon Gold/Silver and Crystal move effect 8D (dec: 141) causes a guaranteed flinch if the user is faster than the opponent and the opponent is not under Protect, but deals no damage. If the user is slower than the opponent, then the move will always miss, even when Mind Reader is used on the previous turn. This effect comes before some valid including Belly Drum (0x8E), Skull Bash (0x91), Future Sight (0x94), Beat Up (0x9A), so is possibly valid too.
You can modify the effect of Pound by changing offset 41AFF in Gold, 41AFC in Crystal and 41C6D in Japanese Gold. The starting byte for Pound is actually one byte before, and the structure for each move is [Attack Animation] [Effect] [Base Power] [Type] [Accuracy] [PP] [??] (thanks Skeetendo).
