Pounce Bounce Isle - Make the Lighthouse Shine: This Shine will be a standard run that is a good overview of the island overall. You’ll likely want to have the Super Bell power up to help you get around the tall walls of this area. Start by jumping across the bouncing platforms to a floor full of boxes you can ground pound on to reveal an even bigger bounce pad up to a high platform. Once up here, dodge the marching enemies and go left to another set of bounce pads. Sliding down, you’ll face off against three boomerang troopers - you may want to swap to an offensive power up to deal with them, and then jump on the bounce pad behind them to another set of pads on high pillars. Carefully jump across the series of pillars to the far wall and bounce up and over to a platform full of boxes hiding another big bounce pad - and use the height to spy the nearby lighthouse down a long slope where the Cat Shine is waiting for you.
Pounce Bounce Isle - Hurry! Jump High, Jump Fast! After leaving and returning to Pounce Bounce Isle once you’ve claimed the first Shine, you’ll find a row of arrows pointing towards a purple button you can ground pound to start a timed course. Quickly dash and follow the narrow road lines with bounce blocks to make it to the far side, and use the Super Bell to quickly climb up to the lighthouse where the Cat Shine is in under 20 seconds.
Pounce Bounce Isle - Key to the Cat Shine: Once you leave and return to Pounce Bounce Isle after claiming the second Cat Shine, you’ll find a large blue cage holding the Cat Shine, and you’ll have to find the key hidden somewhere on the island. To locate the key, move forward and dodge the Cat Bullet Bills to jump up high to the second level, move left and keep climbing until you slide down a slope, and you’ll find the key on a high wall in front of you. You can reach it either using the Cat Bell to climb, or look behind the wall for a small platform with a bounce pad. Be sure not to fall in the water as you carefully jump down with the key to reach the cage and claim your prize.
Pounce Bounce Isle - Five Cat Shine Shards: This Cat Shine can be obtained at any point while exploring Pounce Bounce Isle, but you’ll need to track down each of the red shard coins to find this Shine. The first shard is located on top of one of the Blockstepper enemies on the first high platform you can jump to on the island. Clear them out with fireballs or boomerangs to isolate it. Just above the first shard, look along the high walls behind the Blockstepper enemies to find the second shard up top - and use the bounce pads nearby to get some height before jumping over to claim it. The third shard can be found just after the long slope leading to the second high platform. Look along behind the tall wall here to find a smaller alcove with a pounce bad leading to the shard (also where the key is located for the third Cat Shine. You can find the fourth shard as you climb the bounce pads up to the highest platform leading to the lighthouse, where the rows of crates are. It’s located floating off to the side, so use a boomerang to safely grab it without having to jump for it. The final shard can be found right as you reach the lighthouse itself. Turn back the way you came to spot the fifth shard hiding behind the rows of Blocksteppers just below the slope you came down to get to the lighthouse.
Pounce Bounce Isle - Blast the Fury Blocks: This Cat Shine can be obtained at any point as you explore Pounce Bounce Isle, but you will need the help of Fury Bowser to actually unlock it. Once Bowser appears to torment you, sprint over to the base of the northeast edge of the isle to look around a large pillar where you’ll find a few rows of Fury Blocks below a pounce pad. Lure Bowser into attacking the pillar directly before dashing behind it, and the path to the Cat Shine will be revealed.
