POV: You figured out why JLewโs handle is different ๐๐
If youโre a hoop junkie like me, then youโve probably seen this viral clip of JLew from when he first broke onto the scene ๐
But what made this clip so impressive was NOT the specific moves or combo themselves (Sham + Double BTB + Tween), but the fact that NOT ONCE did he ever truly change pace or height when attacking downhill (relatively speaking, any and all changes are marginal) ๐คฏ and if you look closely, you can see that his feet are always moving foward on every stride (which is not easy for certain change of direction moves)
The ability to string together any number of moves, while maintaining top downhill speed without slowing down when changing directions, all while staying in a low stance is CRAZY and in my opinion, is why itโs so entertaining to watch him work.
Specifically, itโs the Double BTB or Wrap for me ๐ฑ I challenge you to dribble up the floor at top speed (or even 50% speed for that matter) and try to hit a Double BTB or Wrap WITHOUT slowing down and making sure youโre continually stepping forward. I guarantee your natural tendency will be to significantly decel on one of your strides! ๐
