Mel is an unused character in the Arcade version of the game, which means that she is an non-selectable character.

===== About Mel =====
Mel is the girl in the shop in the Dreamcast version (the area where you could purchase, sell and combine/mix items). Seeing as her data is in the arcade version as well, it's very likely that they developed the game in co-injunction with the DC version.

Despite there being no game freezes, Mel is slightly flawed and incomplete. For example, she is missing some basic moves; some moves freeze her temporarily and her running motion seems 'static' (on the DC version she had a cutesy running motion). She also seems to be missing voices as well. However though, her Power Stone moves work perfectly and she seems to be able to use weapons/items flawlessly. If you keep an eye on her in the video you'll see all this.
