5Testing out PPSSPP quality for Final Fantasy 1: 20th Anniversary Edition.
Update: As of version 1.11.13, you no longer need to use frame skipping, and can easily run the game in Vulcan without menu glitches.
A few graphical glitches still occur. Such as:
- Audio popping between scenes while the game loads (minor).
- Vertex Cache is faster and results in less frame drops, especially for battle effects, but causes texture glitches on the over-world, so I recommend leaving it off (moderate).
- If Vertex Cache is off, the game requires frame skips in order to reduce slowdown, which can cause de-sync over time if you're recording footage or streaming (severe).
- Running the game in Vulcan can cause some users to experience menu glitches. If that is the case, switch to your highest version of Direct3D (moderate).
A few forums suggest that older PPSSPP versions run the game better, but I've yet to test that hypothesis or see evidence of it.
