PREY (2006) - First hour or so
0I started playing Prey again - the first one, not the second, completely unrelated one. I liked this one - at the time the graphics were pretty much as good as it got . It was around (roughly) the time Doom 3 was out, Quake IV, the really good looking games that made all but the best, newest, and most expensive computer with those crazy over-powered 128mb video cards melt like a popsicle on a hot day.
it's different now, games are pretty by default, ai is practically making toasters able to play triple A games at 120fps, but as pretty as they are, they don't have a lot of heart. Don't get me wrong, i love that games have come so far, but I think we're getting into that point where it's more about how pretty a game looks than how it plays. I love a pretty game - and this is "pretty" in it's own way - and it has a story - the lead is a first nations person, his girlfriend is first nation, his grandfather, everything about him and his family centers around their way of thinking and beliefs, without sounding insincere. Pretty heavy shit for a video game.
any way - thanks for watching - i think I'm going to keep playing and post my game play randomly - this is a good game, and i haven't played it in about 19 years....it was due for a replay lol
