There aren't many golf games in VR and many of those that do exist are very simplistic based around crazy golf courses. Pro Putt walks the fine line between crazy golf and realism.

Visually the locations for the game are closer to a Mario golf game with colourful simplistic visuals and animations, however the greens are a different matter and the physics of the greens work perfectly, meaning that it is important to learn to read the greens to understand the weight and direction if you want to keep getting low scores.

There are three courses of 9 holes, Beach, Desert and forest and two levels of difficulty, normal and pro, in normal you can pull the grip button and a perfect putting line will appear, in pro you will just be able to view the undulations of the hole. The locations for each course allow for some interesting obstacles such as rocks, cactus and palm trees. The majority of the holes are possible to get a hole in one, but take practice, requiring a bit of luck at times or the perfect judgement of weight. greens will arc around obstacles, require jumps over great drops of water or sand.

The weight of putting feels perfect and after a couple of holes you will begin to putt some incredible shots, which drives you on to get better scores, which you can compare with the online leaderboards. As you play and complete birdes, eagles and hole in ones or long putts your are awarded new themed golf balls that you are able to use in both single player or multiplayer games.

Multiplayer is smooth and trouble free, simply select whether you want to play a private match or public and you are taken to the practice green whilst the game searches for your opponent. Ingame you see your opponents cap and club, and thank the lord, you can chat.

There are a few mini games available which are a little samey, but a nice addition. In each you will need to aim at target holes using either a certain amount of balls or in a limited time, again there are online leaderboards to help challenge you.

Pro Putt is a great golf game that has replayability as a single player game and is a great multi player online game to meet up and challenge your friends to a quick game. Here's hoping for some additional courses in future updates.
