Problems with a Modded Nintendo Switch - Know this Before You Spend $600 on a Modded Switch
252Modding a Switch can be awesome, I've talked about it before on this channel. You can play retro games, take advantage of game mods, and more.
The problem however comes in relabiltiy. Because the Switch still receives new games and updates, you need to periodically manually update the console yourself (not as straight forward as updating a regular Switch).
But the biggest issue comes from the nearly bi-monthly SD card corruption I would have. This seems to be tied closely to how frequently I use homebrew. Over time individual folders and games will corrupt, though this issue is not present when playing regular Switch games.
Before you spend a ton of money on a pre-modded Switch, know it is a lot of work to maintain. If you are not willing to put in the work to mod the Switch yourself, you likely won't be able to keep up with maintaining one if you buy one pre-modded.
