20The available unlocked phones to choose from seem to be becoming tighter and tighter. With fewer options, you are mostly forced to choose between Motorola, Google, or Samsung when it comes to widely available unlocked phones.
Though these phones can provide a great value, they have even seemed to be depreciating in quality year over year. For instance, many of Motorola's 2020 phones feature improved hardware over their 2021 and 2022 counterparts of the same model.
It's disappointing to see but seems like the unfortunate direction things are going with decreased competition from shady Chinese phone companies like ZTE.
