Project Beril Challenge Mode Chapters 1 to 4-4 all clear
Project Beril is a kind-of STG from 2 years ago where you level up/train an autododge AI to play in your stead. In story mode, you use the mouse to make general guidance decisions, and the autododge does the rest.
In challenge mode, the game instead plays like Seiwell's other games. The player is manually controlled, but you can let Beril take the wheel by holding the C key down. Note that in this mode, you CANNOT use the mouse of otherwise give autododge guidance, you're at the mercy of what it decides to do.
This video is all of the levels cleared in challenge mode besides 4-5 (the final stage). Chapters 1 and 2 are pretty easy, most normal-mode Touhou players should have no trouble clearing this without using the autododge.
Chapters 3 and 4 are where things get interesting. For the stages, it's a matter of learning where the possible safespots are, when to bomb, and how to position yourself properly to give the autododge its best chance when you need to activate it.
Another important point is that dying does not replenish bombs in this game. So, there's no incentive to prefer bombing over dying. You really want to save your bombs for the attacks that they're really needed for.
The rule of thumb is, if your manual dodging alongside the autododge can't make it past a pattern with 1-miss or fewer, then you should probably try to last as long as you can, then bomb it, because bombing in this game deals quite a bit of damage. Otherwise, last as long as you can, take the miss, and try to finish it off with your iframes and a bit more autododging.
4-5, the final stage, is much longer and harder than everything else, so I'm going to work on beating and posting that separately.
