Hello everyone
As a part of my short ongoing interest into mapping, I've decided to challenge myself to do a speedmap. I've made a few maps, and I've only ever finished one, which I never shared. I've learned a lot from trial and error and from playing WADs, but for the longest time I didn't feel confident in my knowledge of UDB, and honestly, I still don't. In spite of all the self doubt, I decided to have a go at speedmapping, a little challenge I put aside for a long time because I was sure I wouldn't be able to do something decent in a short amount of time. However, a few days ago, I decided to just go for it and see what happens. What you'll be playing here (if you decide to) is the result.
I gave myself 2 hours to build everything. This includes the layout, texturing, things, playtesting and balancing. However, I wasn't quite happy with the final result so I gave myself an extra 30 minutes to fix some clearly misaligned textures, add a little more health and ammo and replacing some leftover STARTAN.
The map is called 'IsThis' because after a lot of thinking I wasn't able to put a label to this map (I need to improve at texturing, as it's a little all over the place). I thought "is this hell?... rocky hell?... um.. wood" so I went ahead and left it as IsThis.
