Here we have the final map in my series recreating Knee Deep in the Dead. This is a huge map that reimagines E1M9, Military Base, with the player beginning in the same start area as one of my earlier maps, UAC-M3. In a way it's sort of an
alternate universe version of that map, where you traverse Military Base instead of Toxin Refinery. If you're into sprawling, non-linear maps that's also friendly to speed runners, you're in for a good time. In a way this is strangely relieving, as I've been working on this series for years and it's nice be able to say that it's now complete. UAC-M9 features:
Custom music composed by me, so use an .mp3-friendly port to hear it.
A custom sky, and a few textures from Doom 1.
Intense, dramatic, and detailed use of light and shadow in order to deepen immersion
Fake bridges, suspended props, transparent doors and other fun vanilla tricks
Tons of optional areas for adventurous players
Lots of secrets that reward the player both with power-ups and engaging exploration
