Hey folks. The other day I found a book I'd had lying around called "The Doom Hacker's Guide" from 1995, and thought it'd be fun to give mapping a try. This is my first effort and it took me about four days; my first thought was to make it part of a larger project, but when I saw people often post their first maps here I figured it'd be better to get some feedback before getting ahead of myself. I'd be grateful for any advice or tips!
Pretty typical: MAP01 for Doom 2, in Doom 2 format, tested in PrBoom+ and GZDoom but crashed when I tried it in Chocolate. No new textures or sprites, but there is a rockin' midi composed by me. No jumping but freelook's okay. Difficulty settings are implemented: I balanced UV around being too hard for me, personally. Playtime should be about ten minutes. Good luck!
