Using Keflavik International Airport in Iceland, the Boeing 777,747SP,and 747-400 were tested for maximum crosswind components. The wind speeds were sustained 43 to 46 knts, a realistic set of winds for the area. This is extreme flying, and takes quite a bit of skill as the winds are too strong for the AP to handle.
I made this Video for Hiroshi Igami and the crew at www.projectopensky.com
