There is a side quest known as the bloody ring side quest which grants you the tether lens if you do it.

This tells the story of the tragic deaths of Miyako the wanderer and Masumi the cut man. Masumi had arrived a year at the village of Minakami village before the Amakura girls did to survey the terrain for a dam project. As he carried out his investigation he unfortunately stumbled upon the lost village and became stranded within its ghostly grasp. He was presumed spirited away, another victim of the forest, however Miyako who was determined to track her loved one down headed out in search for Masumi who was still alive and trapped at the time and also became imprisoned in the village. Eventually the two reunited with each other and sought a way out however Miyako became injured and Masumi was forced to leave her in the Osaka house while he pursued a lead for away out and headed to the Kurosawa Mansion. It was there he met his demise, he encountered the Kusabi who brutally ravaged him. He did not die right away but was indeed mortally wounded he tried to make his way back back to Miyako but died, his tormented spirit came back looking for the ring he sought to give her and Miyako herself, his spirit eventually stumbled upon Miyako where he proceeded to kill her, her spirit also returned wondering why Masumi killed her and searching for her

If the bloody ring is acquired Mio witnesses Miyako's murder and proceeds to Battle both Miyako and Masumi themselves, after Mio dispatches them after a grueling fight she gains the special tether lense.
