PS1 Recording Test 1: Croc 2
Awhile back I uploaded footage from my Final Fantasy VII game. Unfortunately the footage was poorly out of sync making it somewhat difficult to watch. This was due in part that VirtualDub sucks at audio syncing and is painfully difficult to re-sync, as well as the potential of having poor video footage as a result. I found a different program to record footage off my Dazzle without the hassle and it appears to perform quite well and appears to automatically sync up the video without noticeable distortions (typically seen in forcibly locking audio and video together). Sometimes it really sucks to have to deal with different sampling rates for audio and video. Properly exporting the footage took a few tests until I was able to get a small enough video file size with smooth frame rates. I have no intentions of re-recording the FF7 videos, there's really no point.
Croc 2 is a pretty interesting game, I think I'll consider it a potential candidate for my gameplay list. The main problem so far with the game is rope swinging and the damn camera. The music and tunes are pretty fun and catchy though. Anthropomorphic crocodiles and alligators are always fun.
Whenever possible and convenient, I'll record footage off my consoles, because it feels more natural than emulators.
I had similar recording problems with my old SNES console recorded videos during my PS1 testing, and thankfully the new program fixed that as well.
