Playing the "NeoGeo" version of KOF '99 in the Japanese PS2 "NESTS Compilation"; the other version, available directly from the NESTS main menu (along with KOF 2000 and 2001), I've seen called the "Dreamcast" version on the Internet, and it has advantages like button remapping and arranged soundtracks, but also things I don't really want, like 3D backgrounds and blurry sprites. So I'm going with the version found under the "NeoGeo" menu item--it doesn't have any save function or button remapping or fancy soundtracks or in-game move lists, but it has 2D backgrounds and un-blurred sprites; oh, and an English language option, unlike the fancier version! Time stamps in my messing around with the various modes and menus in the NeoGeo version of '99:

16:15 - Team Play (as [?] random -- it actually re-randomizes your characters between every match! :PP And it kept giving me frickin' Bao ; pppp)
